At Support and Sustain Care, we are dedicated to supporting our children in
sustaining their future, realizing their potential, and achieving their best
outcomes. We understand that each child and adult in our organization is unique, and we tailor our support accordingly.

We recognize that every child’s journey into the care system is different and
individual. Children often enter in difficult and traumatic circumstances, and we
acknowledge the additional challenges they may face compared to their peers.
Our commitment is to provide a robust system that prioritizes their safeguarding,
welfare, and the creation of opportunities for them to thrive and reach their full
potential.
We understand the importance of recognizing the uniqueness of each child, and
we strive to provide a holistic approach. This includes maintaining high staff-to-
children ratios, offering opportunities in education and leisure, and celebrating
each success, just as you would in your own home.

Support and Sustain Care recognizes that caring for children who have experienced trauma in their lives can be challenging. However, we approach this by creating a secure base for each child through our therapeutic model of care and holistic approach, which includes PACE and our in-house full-time play therapist who supports both the children and the team.
Drawing from our lived experiences with the children, we understand the importance of providing a warm, safe, and supportive environment that resembles a family home. This involves having school photos on the bookshelf
and toys in the living room for them to play with. Their bedrooms can be personalized to create a comfortable space where they can enjoy spending time.
We value and cherish mealtimes together, using them as an opportunity to discuss their school day, plan activities, clubs, and events, and to foster reflection, repair relationships, and cultivate resilience within the home. We recognize the significance of routines, structure, and boundaries within our homes, as they support and nurture the often unmet needs of the children. To
maintain a culture of consistency, support, development, and understanding, we hold regular team meetings, study days, and management meetings. Regular meetings with the in-house therapist are also crucial in aiding the work we do with the children. Additionally, our staff benefit from access to 24/7 support (via Peninsula) and receive one-on-one time with the manager and therapist.
